Bluebonnet Huntin'

Hey y'all!  It are springtime in Texas, which means it are bluebonnet time.  And Indian paintbrush time too!  Today we all drove down to Ennis to get some bluebonnet photos.  I were barkin my head off at everybody everytime we stopped!

Ain't I adorable??  I kept tryin to eat da bluebonnets, dey were tasty, but my momma kept makin me stop.

We also saws some animal dudes - cattles, horsies, a burro, and some goats.  We didn't get no pictures of da goats though.

Did y'all see da new dress I are wearing?  It are da reverse side of my new Easter dress.  Here's some better pictures of it.

Finley's momma has promised me a new dress a week - I are gonna have da bestest wardrobe ever!!

  5. Lovely pictures!
    Just lovely!

All I have is some bluebells, BOL!

We have a reddish plant in our yard...in summertime, its called Indian paintbrush, but I don't think its the same as yours...there is a yellow version of it too. Are bluebonnets a type of legume or lupine?
We have crownvetch here, its pink, but not anything like your pretty Bluebonnets, and crownvetch is rather not native, BOL!

    1. I fink our Indian Paintbrush are only down here in Texas and Oklahoma, so yours are different. Ours comes in all different kindsa reds - from orange to coral to pink to red. It are real pretty.

Da bluebonnets are a lupine. Most are da bright blue, but dere are some light blue ones. Dere are even white ones (which momma has seen) and natural pink ones (which momma has not seen). Den da Aggies had to go make maroon "Aggiebonnets" too. I don't think we'll buying those seeds, BOL!
