Leg Update

Well, it wuz all cloudy today, so me and momma didn't get da opportunitee to go sit outside.  But we did get to go on a walky - I had a pawsome time ridin my stroller.

I are still not usin my back legs at all.  When I move at all (which are not very often), I use my front legs and just drag my bootie and back legs along.  Momma are havin to carry me everywhere and sling me up wif an old scarf to do my "bizness" (dat part are a lil embarrassin).  I guess I are lucky she spends dat 2 hours a day workin out so she are strong enuf to carry me round.  She says it just makes her glad dat I are a 20-pounder (or so, ackshaully last time I got weighed I wuz a lil under dat).  I guess she don't wanna do 70-pound dead lifts, BOL BOL!

I are sposed to get some more x-rays at da vet to see what are da issue - are it my knee, my hips, or my back??  It are just real tuff gettin old.

  1. You have the best Mom. She loves you very much to do all that for you. I think my Mom would have to get a forklift if I had to be carried around.

  8. Our angel Miss Charisma had that kind of problem with her legs. It was because of arthritis in her spine. I think it was called bridging spondylosis. Ghostwriter always says getting old sucks! Good luck at the vet!

  13. So sorry to hear about your legs. My sister Katie who is 13 1/2 has issues with her back legs but she is 75 lbs. She falls down a lot and Mom has to help her back up. One of these days she will need a sling to walk, but thankfully not yet. Have you thought about a dog chiropractor? I know ours helps Katie a lot. It may be something that is pinched and could be fixed that way.

  17. Awww, I am sending a ton of POTP! And hugs to your Momma who I know is super worried about you even as she takes such good care of you. Getting old sure does come with things we do not enjoy.

I still have that drunken gait, s=esp when I am in a hurry or jumping off the couch, I reel and keel over and look like I am going to break a leg or something, but growlmy says I just look at here...like I meant to do that and carry on. Stubborn terrierist that I am...I even slid off the sidewalk the other night when there was some ice there...but right now at least its way above freezing.

Pardon the pun, but hang in there, BOL!
