Whitley's Birthday

Today woulda been Whitley's birthday, my momma has been havin a tuff time wif it.  I's been tryin to cheer her up and give her lotsa kissies.  She says she misses Whitley a lot.

Last year, Whitley got to spend her birthday at da beach.  It wuz one of her favorite places to go and my momma are real happy dat she got to have such a pawsome last birthday.  So da lesson are, celebrate each birthday (and real everyday).  We don't know how long we's got, so live it up.  Or somefin like dat.

Whitley had been one of my momma's best friends for 13 1/2 years.  She wuz wif her from when she wuz 15 and went all over da country (all da way from Dallas to Lost Angulus to Bawston to Austin to back to Dallas!).  She got to meet all kindsa famous peeples - future NFL players, actors, a Supreme Court justice, and a senator!  Whitley killed all kindsa varmints (I hasn't gotten a chance to do dat yet).  She luved her dresses (so duz I!) and walkies (I are now enjoyin em a LOT more) and swimmin (I's tried it a couple times, but are really gonna try it out next summer).  But bestest of all, she taught my whole family bout how pawsome westies are, which are why me, Brinley, and Finley are all here!  She wuz a speshul pup and good pal to my momma.  Now bein my momma's best friend are my job.

I fink I are doin pretty good, I make my momma smile and laff and we went on a walkie today.

It helps dat I has help from BFF Brinley.  And of course, Finley are teachin us both what we is sposed to do.

We got to bark some new stuff today - a baby stroller, bikes, and a schnauzer who thought dey wuz all dat.

Did ya notice my lil haircut??  Ya can see my eyes again!

  1. Sad your Momma is sad ~ Whitley left a big empty spot in her heart and sadness in all of us who followed her blog. But Kinley you are already doing a good job of making Momma happy.
And we sure do love seeing you.
    Thanks for being a friend

I only came to know Whitley in her last few months and was also shocked at her departure. Blogville is a speshul place and Whits had a speshul place within it! But d'ya know what Kinley, it is thanks to Whitley that I am here now talking with ya and getting to know ya as you settle in to your grown-up job of making mum happy and golly I am glad for that. So give mum lots of snuggles for now and keep those 'now' moments coming as she learns you are every bit the friend W was, but in your own unique way!!! Sending Love (capital 'ell') with the hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  23. Our Mama understands. She misses Isadora a lot. Some times she pretends Isadora isn't gone and will be back soon. But she also knows Isadora helped bring Wilhelmina to her to help her laugh and love again. We know you do that for your Mama, Kinley, and we know Whitley had a hand in that :)
