Book Lovers Day

Happy Book Lovers Day! I are not a big book lover, I prefurs tennis balls. And me and Brinley tried some cookbooks when we were puppies and da taste of dem did not match da pictures. Brinley has been known to chew bookmarks though . . .

WAIT, dis are about reading books?? Well, my momma LUVS to do dat. I like to keep her company and snuggle while she duz it.

And we has a book recommendayshun for ya too. It are da Hank the Cowdog books. It are all about da advenshures of a ranch dog in da Texas Panhandle - he has da important job of Head of Ranch Security. And dere are all kinds of udder pawsome characters - his assistant Drover, da humans Loper, Sally May, Alfred, and Slim, dat sneaky barncat Pete, da coyotes Rip, Snort, and Missy Coyote, da buzzards Wallace and Junior, Beulah da beeyootifull collie, Plato da birddog, Eddy da Rac, Madame Moonshine da owl, Ralph da basset hound, J.T. Cluck da head rooster - well, ya gets da idea. Dere are tons of dese books - almost 70! Momma says dat Brinley's momma used to read em to her and her sister when dey wuz lil and momma has kept readin em ever since - dey are HIGHLARIOUS. Dey are great books for pawrents to read to dere kids (or for grandpawrents to read to grandkids) and also good for kids who are reading chapter books. Or dey are just good to read even if you're a grown up (although how much my momma are a grown up are a matter dat are up for debate).

Do ya think we can get my momma to start readin us a bedtime story?

  5. We think that ANY book with dogs in it, preferably heroes, who don't die at the end would be GREAT bedtime stories!
