Well pals, I finally know what wuz wrong wif my paw. It had a foxtail in it! Momma has been trying to figger out if somefin wuz in there and this morning a little bit of pus came out and then she squeezed it a bit and it looked like somefin hard and a foxtail came out. If ya don't know what a foxtail are, it are this nasty grass seed burr. Ouch! I probably picked it up on a walk, da mommas scoured da yard for anything that coulda hurt me and there wuz nuffin. I never acted like da paw hurt at all, but dat are cuz I are a terrier and terriers is tuff.
So I got my paws soaked in warm water and it are off to da vet tomorrow to make shure it are all gone. Which are gonna be kind of a pain in da butt becuz we are havin to switch vets and everything are so weird due to Miss Rona still being in town, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do, and momma says dat means da vet for me. Hopin it all goes well.
Brinley has been keeping me company and keeping da whole family safe from cars on TV. BOL.
Oh and Finley wanted to show off her furcut today. It's kinda hard for da mommas to groom her - her eyesight are not what it wuz and she goes crazy at da scissors, so it may not be a perfect haircut, but it are an improvement.
We loveFinleys cut, and think whatever she wears is great. You can just say she is at the cutting edge of fashion if anyone asks ;)
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you got that bur out. Hopefully all OK, but the vet sounds a good thing anyway.

Yeah, da swelling has already gone down but momma just wants to make shure.
Deletewe hope for super good news from da vetman today...
ReplyDeleteFanks. But I didn't go becuz when I woke up, da foot looked so much better.
DeleteI had a sand burr embedded between my toesies a while ago. I too was limping, vet said nothing was wrong. Our vet was on vacation. Went back a week later and she found that monster and squeezed it out. I stopped limping immediately and took pills for a week to prevent infection. Glad your mystery is solved.
ReplyDeleteOuch! I wuzn't limping, but it wuz a lil above my paw.
DeleteOuch a foxtail in your paw! Why if the whole fox had been in there they would have seen it right away. Because of this Covid when I went to the vet I had to go in by myself and Lee had to wait in the car.

Yeah, when Finley and Bowie went to the emergency vet back in April, they had to do da same thing.
DeleteKyla had one of those. What a nuisance.
ReplyDeleteYeah, dey are nasty.
DeleteOuch! We never heard of a foxtail burr. Sounds painful! After all the forget-me-nots were done blooming in our yard, they formed little seed pods with tiny burrs on then. I got hundreds of them caught in my fur, but they didn't burrow into my skin.
ReplyDeleteFoxtails are pretty nasty. We'd heard of dogs getting them, but none of us ever had. Guess I'm da first (and hopefully da last).
DeleteOh, those foxtails are so naughty and nasty. Glad you got it out, but the vet will be able to help make sure its going to be A-OK!
ReplyDeleteDalton doesn't get too many things stuck in his smooth furs, but Benji picks up everything. We work hard to keep the woodsy part of our yard free of weeds that have stick-ons...and he still finds some every day. He has talent, BOL!
Sometimes the dogs step on old brambles and I find little thorns in their pawpads, but they are relatively easy to remove...at the first sign of licking...
Finley looks sweet, if petcretary used scissors on any of us, we would always look like that, she is not good at all wirth those things...and that's one reason she never tries to cut the hair of herself of any of the menfolk...and NEVER the peeps at her workplace. She even hates it when someone wants her to put curlers in their hair, BOL!
Loved all the selfies!
Me and Brinley pick up EVERYTHING. We've picked up sticker burrs in our paws before, but never had anything like this.
DeleteDa mommas are not actually too bad wif da grooming (they do both of us themselves), but Finley is VERY uncooperative now. So they were just happy to get her hair shorter.
We're sorry to hear about your needing a vet visit but we hope that nasty foxtail is all out of your paw. We will keep our paws crossed for an easy vet visit for you.
ReplyDeleteWell, I actually didn't need one since my foot wuz that much improved.
DeleteI am glad the foxtail is out. They are nasty. We pray you vet trip is quick and painless.
ReplyDeleteThey really are nasty.
DeleteOh those are such a pain. Da trail near our house has a bazillion so Mama has to avoid those areas when we go. So glad you got it out and hope da vet wasn't too bad..
ReplyDeleteGood on Brinley fur pawtecting you from da cars on TV and we fink Finley looks beautiful wif her new do :)
xoxo,
Matt (& Matilda)
