Not Feelin Good

Hey y'all, I'm not feelin too good.  I woke up on Thursday morning and I was completely unable to move - it seems like at least one of my front legs have gone out on me too.  That's 3 outta 4.  Just like wif my back legs, it are pretty clear I didn't injure it - I was asleep in da bed right where I'd been put at Wednesday nite when I could use my front leg just fine - I'd used my Whitley Wheels™ to get around earlier dat day.  Momma wuz hopin I'd feel better today, but I'm not.  I'm not really wantin to do too much, I just kinda lay on my side and feel bad.

Momma are thinkin I mite have degenerative myelopathy (it are a degenerative disease of da spinal cord) - it kinda fits wif a lotta my symptoms.  Ya can read more bout it here.  It kinda makes sense - I started out walkin bad (we thought it was just arthur-eye-tis), then one rear leg went bad, then the other.  And now a front leg.  Da good news is dat it are not a painful disease.  Da bad news is dat dere is no cure, no treatment, and dat is eventually deadly. But if dat are what are goin on, momma are not gonna let it get to dat point.  She says dat wouldn't be right to do to me.

I's a terrierist and I don't wanna be a quitter, but I may not be around a whole lot longer.  I can't move at all now, da mommas said I are like a lil marionette when dey try to gets me to do my bizness.  It are real sad and everything for everybody, dey has been cryin way too much today.  I don't like it when dey cries, speshully since I can't even get up in dere faces and lick da salty tears anymore.

Right now, my family are tryin real hard to make shure I have da bestest time I can right now.

Me, Finley and da mommas spent da afternoon outside by da pool.  Momma said it are warm enuf dat I mite get to get in da pool tomorrow or on Sunday!  Yay!  Da S.S. Whitley are all ready for me - dere won't be any pool ball, but floating round will be nice.

Da mommas wuz even thinkin of me when dey went to da grocery store and dey got me my most favorite treat - NILLAS!!! I already has gotten a couple of cookies.

I also gots to go for a ride in my stroller.  I saw a bunny and I barked da Yorkie trio.  Can ya believe dey wuz gettin pets from a naybor and I wuzn't???  What da woof???

Look what else I gots - Frosty Paws!!  Dey eve has a westie on da box (ok, I has never seen a westie wif blue eyes, but I guess dere are artistical license or somefin).

Momma broke it up into smaller pieces for me and Finn.

Finley ate her Frosty Paws so fast she had to go to her room so I'd be able to finish mine in peace.

And I did!

I may be kinda over kibble, but Frosty Paws are a different story.  I also got some sossidge, pepperoni, and pizza bones tonite.  So not too bad a day for dis lil crippled pup.  I are makin da most of what I has left, it may not be long, but me and momma are gonna try our bestest to enjoy it together.
