Sad News

Hi pals. We has some sad news about a Facebook/Dogster friend, Cindy Green (if ya wuz on Dogster, ya might remember her pups Luna and angels Milo and Hobo). Cindy was found deceased this weekend, her last Facebook post wuz on the 11th (and she posted pretty much everyday). Luna passed away too - she ran out of food and water. They think Cindy died on the 11th or 12th. Momma wuz thinking about her tonight since she always posted about politics and the debate was on.

Cindy loved animals and she really loved her pup Luna, I know she would have hated what happened to her.

She wuz a retired pediatrics nurse and a long-time Democratic party activist, she wuz a huge supporter of women's rights and gay rights. She worked for San Diego Democrats for Equality.

It's so sad, she will be missed by so many people.

Please, if you know someone who lives alone and is older - check on them and their animals, especially if they stop posting on social media.

And if you're older and alone, please arrange to have someone check on you and your animals if they don't hear from you.

We're gonna miss our friends Cindy and Luna.

    That is horrible beyond measure.
I just cannot imagine them being like that for so long until someone figured out to check...alas too late...sob.

Yes, very important to always keep a check on those whom we know to be alone and the elderly, etc. Used to do that with our neighbors who were disabled and elderly...

Sorry that you lost such a good friend, you knew her much better than I did.

  2. This is so very sad, and thanks for the reminder to check on the elderly and vulnerable. Such an important issue.

This is so sad, yet, one suspects, rather a common problem in our modern times. Due to 'knowing' people online we can forget the 'real-life' needs for contact and check-ins. Your post highlights this beautifully. Sorry for the loss of your friend... reach out people! YAM xx

  5. That is really sad. Being alone can really be a bad deal if something goes wrong. Good advice.

  6. That is so horrible for poor Cindy and Luna. :( Momma says that since she lives alone, that's always been one of her nightmares. Her friends are specifically instructed to check on her if they don't hear from her for a few days, and she has two people designated to take care of me if anything happens. She said she doesn't want to go to the hospital for a car crash or something and no one thinks to go home and take care of me because they're worried about her.

  8. Losing a peep is bad enough but having those anipals without food or water????
Nobody checked up on Cindy? Peeps who live alone should be checked every day.
