Happy Texas Independence Day!

Happy Texas Independence Day y'all!  Momma says I's allowed to celebrate even though I are not a "real Texan."  Hey, I got here as soon as I could.  See, I wuz actually born in Oklahoma, a fact dat my momma for some reason thinks needs to be made fun of.  Dere are nuffin wrong wif bein from Oklahoma, whatefur she says.  But since I's been a Texan since I wuz bout 2 months old, I thinks I can celebrate.  Even if I's not a 7th generayshun Texan like my momma are.

So enjoy some yummy Texas BBQ, Shiner beer, and barkaritas . . .

And now for some Texas music to dance to . . .

Happy Texas Independence Day y'all!

  2. Happy Texas Independence Day to you. Mom was born in Texas but raised in Oklahoma after college she moved to Texas. She calls herself a transplant Texas but she loves her Sooners. I on the other am like Daddy born and raised here. During college football I live in a divided house and mom makes me wear my Sooner T-shirt which makes my dad cringe.

    Aroo to you,

    1. My momma had me move to California too for a couple years, but we kept our Texan-ness. We even kept it when we lived in Bawston and momma's law school classmates voted her "Most Texan." She told em she knew dey meant it as an insult, but it was a compliment to her. BOL BOL!

  5. Republic of Texas have you Secede from the Union Whitley? Glad you're not with Mexico anymore but please stay with us here in the USA. I think with all the shamrocks and no bluebells you look more St. Patrick Irish to me.
    Thanks for being a friend

And well, ya know westies are Scottish - pretty close to Irish I guess. And dat are what momma are mostly originally - Scotch-Irish. And any opportunity for Guinness and whiskey are a good thing.
