Fit for a Princess

Hey pals. Momma made me dis Sleeping Beauty dress before da Queen of England went to go join so many of her corgis who have passed, but it does seem kinda appropriate to be wearing a royalty-themed dress in her honor. After all, any one who likes dogs as much as she did has gotta be pretty good, right?

Well, momma says dis dress are fit for a princess. Do y'all remember this from da Sleeping Beauty movie?

Well, this are obviously da blue side. Last week I showed ya da pink side wif da fairies.

Speaking of westie princesses, momma says today wuz Whitley's birthday. She wuz our original westie princess. I never gotta meet her, but she musta been a pretty good pup since momma wanted another westie. Good thing for me, right??

Perro de los Muertos

 

Hi pals! It are día de los muertos - da holiday where ya celebrate da dead. So I decided to make a very westie ofrenda and put up pictures of Finley and my predecessor Whitley so they could come visit. I lit a candle for dem to find their way and I put out a hippo toy for them to play wif - momma says Angel Whitley luved hippos. And cookies de muerto for them to taste. And da best part of dat are - dey can't really eat them, so I get to!

We all miss ya Finley. And I know momma misses you Whitley - I never got to meet ya, but ya musta been pretty pawsome to make everyone want more westies. Maybe next year I'll make a bigger one and put up the bassets too - but since Whitley and Finley are da only pups my blogging pals knew, we stuck with them dis year.

Whitley's Birthday

Well, yesterday wuz a sad day for da whole country. Today are a sad day for my momma. It are Angel Whitley's birthday.

I never knew Whitley. But Finley tells me and Brinley she wuz a really cool pup. And yeah, she even confirmed dat CRAY CRAY stuff my momma says about Whitley liking baffs. Uhh, are ya shure she wuz a terrieriest? Well, she did have multiple skwerril and rat kills. Ok, she sounds like a real terrier. Anyways, my momma has been sad missing Whitley today. Whitley went all over da country wif her.

Me and Brinley had to work extra hard to cheer her up. Westie kisses help a lot.

Whitley wuz da original westie for our family and none of us would be hear wifout her. So I'm sharing my momma's drawing of her today.

I never knew ya Whitley, but thanks for turning the whole family into westie fans. And fanks for all da toys and dresses and da momma I got to inherit. Even if she does have unrealistic expectayshuns of westies at baff time.  

Whitley's Birthday

Today wuz Angel Whitley's birthday.

I didn't get to know Angel Whitley. But momma says she wuz a speshul pup and is the reason all of us are here since she wuz the family's furst westie.

Whitley wuz Finley's BFF. 

Momma says Brinley's personality reminds her the most of Whitley's. Obviously we're all unique, but some of the things Brinley does - getting across the room and then staring at people and that little coy look she gets, reminds momma of Whitley.

My momma did a cartoon of Whitley today. Happy birthday Whitley, wherever you are.

It's been a fun weakend for us westies. 

Yesterday we got to bark da horsies on TV running da Kentucky Derby.

And we did so in horsey style!

And I may have kissed momma extra. What can ya say, mint julep breath are tasty!

Today it wuz cinco de mayo which meant out came da sombrero.

Hmmm, how bout a taco?? Or a barkarita???

All dis party stuff are exhausterating!

Time for a siesta after all dat fiesta.

Whitley has been gone three years today. I never knew her, but momma has been sad all day missing her. So extra snuggles from me (and Finley and Brinley and da kitties) today. 

Whitley Wednesday

Hi pals!

Finley told me today wuz a speshul day.

And not just cuz my momma made pizza and I got some pizza bones (and sossidge!)

Don't get me wrong, pizza bones and sossidge are very speshul!

Even if I has to share wif my sisfurs (and kitteh brofur who LUVS da sossidge). 

 

Finley told us dat today woulda been Angel Whitley's 16th birthday.

In case ya is new and don't know, Whitley wuz my momma's furstest westie. She wuz also her 16th birthday present, which made dis birfday dat nefur wuz a lil eggstra tuff for my momma.

So we worked hard to cheer her up today.

And I wore dis dress I in-hair-ited from Angel Whitley today. It wuz a present for her 13th birfday.

Finley still misses her BFF.

Happy birfday Angel Whitley. I woulda luved to meet ya. Fanks for being such a pawsome pup dat ya converted everyone in da house into a westie luver.

It are cinco de mayo!

Which means margaritas for all, right??

Can ya believe we had to get baffs today?? Momma said it wuz CINCO de mayo and not STINKO da mayo.

Den she said it wuz DERBY Day and not DIRTY Day.

Yeah, she are a real comedian.

But we's cutting her some slack today - she said dat two years ago she had to say goodbye to Whitley and dat she still misses her. And dat she ESPESHULLY misses her during bath time becuz Whitley liked baffs???  I didn't believe her, but Finley said it were true.

Ya look like wuz a good pup Whitley. I's honored to follow in your pawprints, but I are not gonna ever like baffs.  #sorrynotsorry.

Nashinul Secondhand Wardrobe Day

Today it are Nashinul Secondhand Wardrobe Day.  Dis wuz an easy one for me, since I in-hair-ited a lotta my clothes from Angel Whitley.  Includin dis cherry dress, which wuz da lastest dress my momma made for Whitley.

Brinley has to share Finley's.  Which works out since Finley can really only wear da dresses for a lil bit cuz of her aller-jeez (she needs more proteckshun on her skin from herself).

P.S. We has gotten a couple emails about Hurricane Harvey. We are ok - we live in a suburb north of Dallas and are hundreds of miles from the coast. Da only thing we is sposed to get is a maybe a couple inches of rain. But we duz have friends and family who live in areas dat will be affected, so please send dem your prayers and good (and DRY) thoughts.
