Remembering Crockett

Today we are remembering our kitty brofur Crockett, who we lost a year ago in a tragic accident. In case you're a newer reader, or you don't remember, the mommas came home from walking us pups to find Crockett crushed by a ladder. They had been removing wallpaper from the entry hall and there had been a ladder propped against the wall. Crockett had been climbing up in the light well earlier in the day and they guess that he tried again when they were gone and that somehow he hit the ladder and it fell on him. It wuz awful. Grandma still blames herself (even though everyone tells her not to) and we all feel sick thinking about it.

He wuz a sweet kitty and we all luved him and miss him.

I used to play wif him a lot. He luved these lil plastic balls and we would both play with them, knocking them all over the kitchen.

Some people will tell you cats and terriers don't mix, but we don't agree. If ya introduce kitties to terriers when they are puppies and supervise, they can be great pals. Finley has always been a really good friend to all the kitties here. And we all miss our sweet Crockett. Maybe somewhere, he is playing with Whitley and Maurice. We don't know, but we do know we miss him.

  1. It is always hard to have those sad memories...though you have lots of good ones to help. We miss him, too.

(MJF was lost when he lost Toki, they would cuddle in the bed together...and then again when Minko left, he was lost too, though since he was really elderly by then, and they were buddies, but not cuddlers it was a wee bit easier for him.)

Hugs to all, and wags and licks, too.

  5. There is no good way to go, quickly like Crockett or slowly degenerating.

    1. Yeah, it's always really hard. The only good way is if you live a long time healthy and then just go to sleep or something. But that's rare.
