SNOW??

So we are sposed to be getting some big winter snow.

I are hoping for SNOW!

Momma said like a quarter inch of ice are more likely.

Oh well, a girl can dream . . . 

Rainy Days

So it are rainy and cold down here in San Antonio.

Which means I are not getting my patrol walks in.

But I am getting extra snuggles. And BACON dis morning. YUM!

So yeah, we has a wind chill of -7F right now. BRRRR! 

We don't has any snow to go wif it though - just COLD!

Sounds like a good night to spend in front of da fireplace watching Christmas movies!!

It's Cold Out There!

 

Hey pals! Well, it has gotten COLD here.

I are LOVING it! I got to go on a walk dis afternoon and it wuz a nice brisk 33 degrees. But wif da west Texas winds (which luckily were NOT filled wif dirt for once), it felt like it was about 20.

My momma are not nearly as big a fan of winter as me. Ok, she HATES it. But I had fun.

I did not have fun when I got groomed dis afternoon. All of these pics are PRE-grooming and I thought I looked just fine. Ok, I can see a lil easier now, but really, all dat grooming stuff wuz so unnecessary. I mean, it are COLD out there. I need ALL of my furs. Momma said I do not em making dreadlocks, so I gotta get groomed. Sometimes she are NO fun.

Melting

 

Da snow dat are. Not me, I are not melting. Ok, I duz kinda melt into my momma when I wants a cuddle, which are always. But I wuz barkin bout my snow. It mostly left and left some MUD in my park. Which I thought wuz VERY fun to bounce through.

Da dreaded B-A-F-F afterwards? Not so much fun, but I guess it are worth it to get to sleep in da big bed wif momma.

We HAS snow!

I repeat, we HAS snow! So much snow and da streets are frozen dat momma had a snow day and didn't hafta teach today!

Yesterday, she taught Con Law via Zoom since it had started snowing. And I kept barking my opinion and got to make a guest appearance - her students said I wuz cute, so at least their eyes are workin out here in Lubbock.

Yesterday I got a walk in da snow, but today da windchill never got outta da negative temps, so me and momma stayed snuggly and warm inside.

Well, except for when I went out to do my bizness and I barked my butt in da snow bank. Just call me Nanook of da North West.

Texas Thaw

So we is finally thawing out down here in Texas. As ya can see, me and Brinley wore our Mexican jackets, but we didn't take any trips to Cancun. We is not senators. 

Most people have gotten their power back, but millions of people are still under boil water orders and there are lotsa broken pipes around.

Our snow are melting and Finley are glad - da snow and ice wuz really hard on her since she are so old.

I wore my llama pajamas to stay warm and cuddly.

Da snow wuz fun to play in - too bad it came wif all dose other problems for da peeples.

At least we have plenty of dog food. Da people food are in short supply.

Luckily, I don't think da mommas are gonna start eating OUR food.

At least we hope not.

Furozen

 

So we is still in a deep freeze. It are not really scary cold anymore though, so it are more fun to run around and play in.

We luckily still have power and water, but our city has warned everyone dat water supplies are very low and to only use water for handwashing, drinking, and da toilet. 

Which means we got to skip our weekly bath! Hey, I kinda think we should keep this up!!

Happy Mardi Gras!

Happy Mardi Gras! Laissez les bark temps rouler! Or somefin like dat.

Well, there's still lotsa snow and it are still frigid. Brinley are over it.

 Finley are managing ok. Luckily we haven't lost power, so we are all staying warm here. 

And there's gonna be King Cake tonite! Do polar bears eat king cake? I vote YES!

I'm a Polar Bear!

Well, we is in a Code Red emergency here. At least dat are what da city are saying. They called saying that people could be without power for days since multiple power plants are out. They are also doing rolling blackouts, but they are not always rolling the power back on. Luckily, we haven't lost power - grandma thinks it might be becuz we is very close to a fire station and they won't cut power to a fire station on purpose. 

 

It's sposed to be like 0 or 1 tonite wif windchills of below -15. 

The snow and ice are NOT being nice to Finley. She ackshually kinda likes it which surprised da mommas since she is so thin and arthritic and so naked from her allergies. But she is almost 15 and has very thin skin and the snow/ice is literally cutting her skin and making her bleed when she goes out. If she would use pee pads, we would be doing that, but she won't. So da mommas just try to get her to go quick and then get her cleaned up and warm when she comes back in.

    

Brinley are not a big fan of da snow either. I think she's seen enuf and she seems to prefer a warm spot by da fire.

Me? I'm a polar bear! I just want to sit in da snow and run in da snow and play in da snow. Momma says I are nuts. If it wuz like 25 or somefin, she says I might get to play in it more, but it are dangerously cold, so I hafta come in.  

It's so cold that there wuz ice on the pool (even though it wuz running) this morning. Grandma had to break it up this morning and da mommas is gonna hafta sleep in shifts tonite becuz if we lose power, they gotta go out and immediately drain da pool equipment becuz otherwise it will ice and pipes will break. 

I think da humans have had it wif da cold, but I wish I could get some more play time.
