Remembering Crockett

Today woulda been Crockett's sixth birthday.  We miss him so much.

I luved Crockett. He let me play wif him and I luved to give him kisses.

It's been a tuff day for da mommas. All of this coronavirus stuff and the resulting ugliness (the hoarding, the selfishness, the anger . . . ) already had them down. 4 stores and not a roll of toilet paper in sight. And thinking about Crockett's death has made them really down.

We know a lot of you knew him as the kitty who liked to stick his tongue out at the camera. And he did. But he wuz a lot more than that. He wuz his momma's personal ray of sunshine, he followed her room to room. He wuz a quiet kitty, he hardly ever meowed, but you could feel him purr. He wuz so soft and plush feeling. And he wuz such a sweet guy.

We'll always miss him. His life wuz way too short.

He wuz so happy on his birthday last year. He lived his life to the fullest. In these times of uncertainty and fear, we wish that everyone could be a lil more like Crockett. Happy and full of life. Rest in peace sweet kitty.

  3. Awww. What a lovely post to remember dear Crockett. Here in the UK, we are shell-shocked by all the changes brought about by coronavirus. There has been kindness and generosity as well as some ugliness on display. We hope that the hopes expressed by our Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak at a press conference yesterday, will be realised: "We want to look back on this moment and remember the many small acts of kindness done by us and to us. We want to look back on this time and remember how we thought first of others and acted with decency".
    All the best, Gail.

    1. It is showing people's true natures - some are very kind and some are very cruel.

  5. On the bright side, Crocket didn't have to suffer from the mess that we're in.

  7. He was a big part of giving me giggles each week and I do miss that little orange kitty. Our hearts go out to the Mommas and to all who loved Crockett. Extra big hugs.

  8. Take a nap and when you wake up you will be at Crockett's bridge party. Sadly, your mom can't go.
